A simple recipe taught me a very important lesson....


I received a recipe from a very dear friend/Juice Plus representative for these amazing energy bites! My kids love them! I make them as often as I can...when I'm in the mood.


The last time I made them, I learned a very crucial lesson.




I have made these energy bites several times. However, the last few times I have made them, they have not formed right. They literally stuck to my hands and for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong....until the last time I made them.


It is 6 simple ingredients and no bake.


How can this be so difficult for me?


I decided I was going to put every ingredient in to the exact measurement. When it came to the stirring of it, it hit me. The reason why it was constantly sticking to my hands and not forming into balls was due to not stirring it long enough. Why was this such an important lesson for such a simple task and recipe?


I was not putting enough effort into it. I was trying too quickly get them done to move through my "to do" list as fast as I could. This simple recipe was so time consuming that it became an annoying task. I became frustrated making them but yet my daughter loved them and wanted them all of the time.


What was supposed to be a 10 minute recipe turned into 20-30 minutes because I was trying to get it done too quickly which in the end resulted in frustration and more time.


I learned that I needed to slow down. This simple recipe taught me that everything in my life I tend to rush through. My work life is in its busy season. My home life is busy. I want to get everything done as fast as possible so that I don't fall behind. But that is not the way to go about it.


Take each task that you have and concentrate on just that. Don't let your mind wander to the next. That will only create overwhelm and won't get done right. Just like these energy bites. I just needed to spend the 10 minutes thinking about what was right in front of me and the way it needed to be done correctly.


Take time to slow down. Trust me, it will ALL get done. Allow yourself to breath. Oh and try these energy bites to give you that boost to get all of your tasks done!
